Radiesse for Cheek Augmentation
Do you want strong, youthful cheekbones? Strong cheekbones are beautiful, and one of the hallmarks of a youthful face. As we age, our cheekbones disappear, and we lose volume in our cheeks. Some people, too, are born with weak cheekbones. In the past, surgical cheek implants were one way to augment and restore cheekbones. Now, there is a simpler, non-surgical approach.
Dr. Osman uses Radiesse to augment or restore the cheekbones and revolumize the cheeks. Radiesse is placed strategically under the skin in a simple outpatient procedure that takes about 20 minutes. There is usually only mild swelling and redness afterward. Bruising can also occur. Another product that can be used is Sculptra.
If you would like to learn more or schedule an appointment with Dr. Osman, a board-certified dermatologist, please call (818) 885-0455. Dr. Osman can determine if this procedure is right for you.
Quick Answers: Radiesse for Cheekbones
Who are the best candidates for cheek augmentation? Almost anyone who wants fuller cheeks or stronger cheekbones is a good candidate. All skin types can be treated.
How is Radiesse administered? Radiesse is injected into the area to be filled.
Do Radiesse injections hurt? We mix anesthetic into the syringe and use ice packs, so discomfort is minimal.
How long does treatment take? 20 - 40 minutes depending on how much needs to be filled.
What is the recovery time? Some patients will bruise as a result of treatment; however, most do not. If bruising occurs, it is usually minimal. Avoiding aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, fish oil, and other non-prescription blood thinners will minimize the chance for bruising. Patients should avoid exaggerated facial movements for a day or two after injection.
How long do the results last? Usually 12 - 18 months depending on the person and how much movement there is in the area treated. Cheek augmentation seems to last longer than treatment of other areas because there is less movement.
