Restylane
Restylane is a very popular non-animal and non-human based filling agent used to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the face and enhance the lips.
Restylane is made of hyaluronic acid, a product naturally found in our skin. When injected into lines and depressions, it adds volume and reduces their appearance. Restilane is often used to fill the smile lines, frown lines, crow's feet, lips, and lip lines, and to lift the corners of the mouth. It can also be used to raise the eyebrows and augment the cheeks, and can be combined with Botox to provide even better and longer-lasting results.
The side effects of Restylane treatment are low and consist primarily of bruising and swelling. Most patients experience noticeable, especially when the lips are treated, lasting for 2 - 3 days. A much less likely side effect is infection, and allergy is extremely rare.
The results from Restylane last 6 - 9 months. Many patients find that returning for a touch-up treatment every 6 months provides the best results since they never let their Restylane get fully absorbed before getting more.
Restylane costs $300 for a half syringe and $525 for a full syringe. For treating the smile lines, most patients require one to two syringes. For the lips, most patients need ½ to one syringe.
